The Hidden Things
Stereograms were popular in the 90’s. You could stare at a picture long enough and eventually you could see another image appear. At first glance it just looked like abstract art, but somehow the artist hid another image beneath the surface that could emerge only if you spent the time to study the piece. The piece of art on the surface was merely a camouflage of the true message beneath.
Character is developed by the things you do in private; when no one is looking. A good man does the right thing whether anyone is looking or not. The truth is that in life, the surface is actually the evidence of what lies beneath. If you are a person of integrity, then your life will reflect that. If you are honest, loving and compassionate toward others, those are the qualities that will be seen in you. The wonderful thing is that God keeps a record of everything you do for Him. You may not receive your reward among men, but one day God will openly acknowledge all you have done for His glory. Your very life is an offering to Him. If you give it without expecting any reward, then you have truly found the meaning of sacrifice. Ask God to make His purpose such a part of you that when others see you, they see Him emerge in the background. “Lord, help me find something I can do today for someone else. Help me do something for Your kingdom without any thought of reward.”
Scripture Reading:
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes,
who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and
reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will
come from God.
