The Field is the World
There are multitudes in our world searching for God. They are seeking for meaning to life and answers to their problems. They are the people on your job, in your classroom, at the quick stop market, laundromat, and the grocery store. They are everywhere. People who need hope. They seldom say it verbally, but their actions cry out for something more to life than they have found. The emptiness is often reflected in their eyes, but frequently masked by loud talk, hollow laughter, and the constant effort to stay busy. Pain is hidden by medication, substance abuse, or multiple relationships. Some succumb to depression and the black hole of hopelessness.
Do you know someone like that? Who comes to your mind? Is there someone that God has put on your heart to reach out to? You don’t have to be a theologian to show them the love of Christ. Today’s challenge is to look around you and choose one out of many in which you can sow the good seed of the saving Gospel.
Pray this prayer, “Lord, help me today see the world through your vision. Help me recognize hurting eyes, searching words, and silent cries for help. Let me plant a seed of hope and see your harvest of life.”
