Lord of All Creation
One evening my granddaughter and I sat outside and waited for the first star. It was almost dusk when a little white speck appeared. She got so excited to see the first star of the evening. Then we were hooked! We had to stay and see others appear one after another. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy something that happens every night but I rarely take the time to appreciate it.
On a clear night the sky is a magnificent canvas of sparkling diamonds as far as the eye can see. Who but God would do that for you? It is as if they are twinkling out praises to the Creator. “Let them praise the name of the LORD, For He commanded and they were created” (Psalm 148:5). Perhaps God put them there just to remind you to praise Him along with them.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork,” David wrote in one of his many songs (Psalm 19:1). I’m sure David had many occasions to stare up at the stars in the darkness of night and hear the voice of the Creator speaking peace into his spirit.
“Oh Lord, as your crowning creation, please don’t let me be the last one to give you the praise you deserve!”
