Grace for Repentance
Dan Dean, of the singing group Phillips, Craig, and Dean, wrote a beautiful song painting a true picture of the grace of God:
You don't know just how far away from home I've been
She said as she looked into my eyes
Could it be I've strayed beyond mercy's outstretched hand
Now His grace no longer stoops to hear my cry?
See I just wanna know, Tell me how far will He go?
Will he still reach to me in spite of where I've been?

It may be hard to imagine that God can forgive you no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, but if you cannot believe that, you hinder the essence of His precious grace. The blood he shed for our sins is discredited. The truth is, His blood was pure enough to cleanse the filthiest of sinners. Yes, my friend, He will forgive you. “... for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). The only prerequisite is that when you ask, believe ... simply and humbly believe.
